From the very beginning God has said, “It’s not good for man to be alone.” What was true for Adam is true for us all; we need community! We need others who will love us, challenge us, and hold us accountable for our words and actions.
At Otter Creek, one of the primary ways that we can ‘plug-in’ to the life of this church is through Life Groups. A Life Groups is a small group of about 12 adults that meets together 2-3 times a month—usually in someone’s home. For a list of Life Groups, click here. In addition to Life Groups, another important way to ‘plug-in’ to the body of Christ is through service and ministry. For a listing of ministries, click here.
Much like a home, a church is a place that needs constant care and attention. As the congregation grows, so does our need for special men and women who are willing to serve the church in more “behind the scenes” ways. If you have the ability to work with your hands, implement organization, manage a kitchen or setup events, you have a spiritual gift that is greatly needed in the congregation. Ministry is certainly not limited to what happens at our facility. Our entire lives are to be of service; in fact, Paul calls this our spiritual form of worship. (Rom. 12.1-2) If you would like to explore how you could better use your gifts, strengths, and interests email doug@ottercreek.org.
